Chronic Care
Chronic Care covers medicines taken over months or years rather than for a short course, across a range of long-term conditions. You will find therapies used in the management of type 2 diabetes, anaemia associated with chronic kidney disease, neuropathic pain, bone and mineral disorders, and other conditions that require ongoing treatment and regular review. These are supportive of a long-term care plan agreed with your clinician; they are not cures, and none of them replaces that plan.
Because these medicines are taken continuously, the price difference between a branded product and its generic equivalent compounds over time. A generic contains the same active ingredient at the same strength as the branded original and is made by licensed manufacturers, so for many people the practical decision is simply cost. Which medicine, at what dose, and in what combination remain clinical decisions — we do not substitute one product for another without a valid prescription.
